CSAB every year holds counselling for the students who have appeared in Jee Mains. It is after JOSAA counselling only that it holds counselling in the form of CSAB Special Rounds and CSAB NEUT Counselling . There are mostly 2 rounds conducted every year .

But you might be confused whether CSAB refunds the money back or not?
So, here I am to tell you all about it as I also took part in it .
As the counselling of CSAB starts it is just a matter of 3 to 4 days that it ends. This counselling is done very fast as at this time all the NIT and IIIT colleges get started. As we take part in counselling the first thing one has to do is to pay counselling fees which was 36,000 for General and OBC students and around 16,500 for SC and ST.
I also took part in CSAB Special Round counselling by giving all the information about my bank details , application number of JEE Mains and they also asked for a Cancelled cheque for refunding money . I took part in this counselling in August and the counselling organised by CSAB ended in four days . I did not get the institution of my choice in any of the rounds . According to the rules of CSAB one gets a refund back if one hasn't got allotment of any college and there are many other categories also .
I fell in the category where I was not allotted any seat according to my preference.
I didn't have my CSAB fee refund till now .
It was after a month that a link was displayed on CSAB website for fee refund. But it was not for me as I took part in counselling through CSAB and the link was for those students who took part in Josaa counselling and had requested to take part in CSAB counselling also and after this they did not get their preferred seat so they withdrew or did not get any seat. This worried me a lot.
Then I read carefully about the link . But I was still having a bit confusion as the link said that students who has participated through CSAB will get their refund back directly and they need not follow any procedure for fee refund. I searched on you tube even but there also I got information that I might get my refund back.
It was at the mid of September month that I called at NIT Trichy which was the organisor of this counselling for the session of 2018-19. I was not able to get any information from there .
Firstly the contact numbers given at the website of CSAB are in vain. No one picked up the calls. Then somehow I got a number of NIT Trichy which was responsible for giving information about queries related to CSAB. I got the information from there that the refund of students is initiated to all the students and by now they might have received it also.
But I informed them that I didn't get my refund. I gave my application number and asked for my information .They checked meticulously and found that my Bank account's IFS code did not match with that written on the cancelled cheque. It was because of the branch change done by my bank.
They then asked me to write an email about this issue and told that it would resolved soon. I mailed it giving all the information. I used to call them almost daily .
So if you are participating in CSAB counselling , you will definitely get your CSAB fee refund but it will take some time.
So, here I am to tell you all about it as I also took part in it .

So if you are participating in CSAB counselling , you will definitely get your CSAB fee refund but it will take some time.
And if you are willing to participate in CSAB so you have to keep checking out when this will get held for this year because its just a matter of a week that this counselling takes place . Last year the SFTI counselling which was to be held was also cancelled as the number of participants were very less so if you are thinking that there is a risk in taking part in this counselling so I would say that you should take this risk as you will be filling the choices only according to your choice so there will not be any risk of not getting your money as the policy goes like this that if you do not get any seat so you will get your money back after deduction of the counselling fees which was 1000 last year and if you get a seat so you will take it as it will be of your choice .
CSAB fee refund will be issued definitely according to its policies .

DeleteThese are phone numbers of NIT Trichy CSAB responsible department as it conducted CSAB councelling last year. It might take some time to search your data but don't leave ot give up .You can tell the problem you are facing and do make them recall frequently if the solution is in process.

It takes time for the refund to come and if you had given all the information correctly then it will surely come. It happens that you won't be able to contact the concerned authority, in this case you have to find some other number of MNNIT which is serving for refund so for this you can contact MNNIT directly and get number from there. Last year the same thing happened so we had to find that other number which was issued for refund. But your mails have surely reached .

DeleteSo, you participated in CSAB and you got a seat allotted in special round 2.
According to CSAB 2019 's business rules for SEAT ALLOTMENT AFTER SPECIAL ROUND-II , they have mentioned :
8. If a seat is allotted prior to the Special Round-II (i.e. seat allotted in JoSAA/Special
Round-I) and the same is retained for participating in the Special Round-II OR a seat is
allotted afresh in Special Round-II, the Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if
paid) will not be refunded whether such a candidate joins the Allotted Institute or not.
Fee paid by such candidates will be transferred to the Allotted Institute.
So , according to this if you have got a seat in special round II and you didn't report means you have not joined the institute allotted , then you won't get a refund .
So your money is now with the allotted institute . I suggest you to have a conversation with the allotted institute and prior to this you can just confirm your doubt about non refund with IIT Trichy .

ReplyDeleteLook ,according to the norms you won't get a refund since your money is transferred to the institute. I suggest you to ask again about your situation by contacting both the institute you got as well as NIT Trichy for 2019 CSAB .

What process for fee refund please tell me
ReplyDeleteAfter the counselling if you do not get the seat or according to the rules if you are eligible for the fee refund then a notice is published on the website that refund process will start soon. And you don't have to do anything just wait. If the documents submitted by you are all correct then refund gets initiated , if there is some problem then it doesn't.
DeleteI have attached all the validvl documents at the time of form submission but now I haven't found any of the notice or Press release regarding refund policy for NIT's on CSAB website. It is my humble request to you to kindly attach the file showing some relevant information about fee refund .

DeleteIt means you got the seat and have paid seat acceptance fee and reported too. Then you had withdrawn the seat.
Ashish , have you withdrawn the seat before the announcement of last round? And have you submitted the bank account details with the cancelled cheque and also reported to the center for the cancellation of your seat?
It is because these were the required criteria.

Yes, you can contact them plus you should contact the IIT you had got . It is because the seat acceptance fee gets transferred to the allotted institutes so might be they will help you too.

ReplyDeleteIn Jossa 2019 counselling according to the remmitance rules if the candidate pays seat acceptance fees and did not report so he will be refunded the fees through the JoSAA

So the candidate should have applied for the refund .
In case after applying for the refund the candidate did not get the refund then , I would suggest to contact through the given contact numbers on the Jossa 2019 portal and also drop an email regarding the refund.

ReplyDeleteI think you should accept the seat you have got because according to the below rule they say one won't get a refund.
DeleteAfter CSAB Special Round-II,
a) If a candidate is allotted a fresh seat and does not join the allotted institute
OR
b) If a candidate is not allotted a fresh seat but RETAINS his/her earlier
allotted seat [either from JoSAA or CSAB Special Round-I] and does not
join the earlier allotted institute
Then in both the above cases, the Participation Fee and/or Seat Acceptance Fee (if
paid) will not be refunded. Fee paid by such candidates will be transferred to the
Allotted Institute (After deducting the CSAB processing Charges of Rs. 4000/-).
Once you get into the college internal branch change option on scoring good CGPA is always there so you can change your branch in this way.

DeleteIf a candidate gets a seat allotted in Special Round-I (or retains the seat secured in JoSAA2020 rounds) and he/she opts for “SURRENDER and NOT PARTICIPATING in Special Round-II”, his/her Participation Fee and Seat Acceptance Fee (if paid) will be refunded after deducting Rs 6,000/-.

I think you should take the allotted seat and if you are not liking to take it because of branch issue then there is always a way to change your branch by gaining more CGPA in semesters and then applying for branch change.

For CSAB 2019 the email was csab2019@nitt.edu. You have to send mails on this email . Also there might have been some problem in your documents so you didn't receive the refund . It's been an more than an year now. 04312504331 this was the contact number. Try calling at this ,if you can get some help from here and send mail with all your details and information.
