After the Jossa counselling for IITs and NITs , students get one more chance to participate in the counselling for NIT s. This is CSAB counselling . With the help of CSAB counselling you become eligible to get a seat in NIT.

Why is CSAB held ?

This question arises a lot of times . So, actually after the Jossa counselling some of the NIT s have seats left . These seats are not filled at the time of counselling so they are left and hence need to be filled . 

Making it more clear as the doubt always arises is :

Can one get admissions to IIT s through CSAB ?

No, you can not get admissions to IITs . But you can get admissions to NIT s , IIIT s , GFTI s .

But, here we are going to discuss the most important question which arises in every students' mind before taking part in CSAB . This is :

What about CSAB Refund? Does one actually get it ?

Before starting to answer this question I would like to tell you that I have participated in CSAB 2019 , so I have got a real experience of what does actually happens .

 One might ponder :

Why does one need to know about refund ?

It is because you have to submit a participation fee which varies according to the rules made by CSAB like according to last year's norms students of General and OBC category have to submit a participation fee of 36000 and it was around 16500 for SC and ST.

Also the student who has participated in Jossa counselling and is now willing to participate in CSAB , the fee varies accordingly .

Does one actually get CSAB refund ?

Here also various cases arise. So I am going to explain you everything about it .

Look CSAB issues various rules according to Special rounds which it conducts.

• What if you do not get a seat in any of the rounds , so will you get the refund ?
  
  Yes , surely you would get the refund .

• What if you do not accept the seat in first round and sit in the second the and get the same seat or the other seat and do not report to the center?
  
  According to CSAB 2019 rules if you have got a seat prior to Special Round II and the same is retained for participating in the Special Round-II OR a seat is allotted afresh in Special Round II, then the Participation Fee and the Seat Acceptance Fee will not be refunded whether you join the Allotted Institute or not .
  
  So, in this situation one does not get the refund issued . So, you have to be more careful in this situation.

• Should you participate in CSAB counselling or not?
  
  You can participate in CSAB counselling as you are definitely going to get a refund if you do not get the seat . Sometimes , you might have filled a wrong information so it your refund won't get issued . For such a situation you will have to contact the NIT which is incharge of conductance of CSAB counselling for that year and ask them about your refund . 

So , if you participate or would like to participate you can do so as you are surely going to get a CSAB refund if you do not get any seat .
